UK Energy Research and the Gendered Institution

Meeting the challenge of decarbonising energy systems will require the potential and expertise of all energy researchers to be mobilised, but, despite various initiatives to improve diversity, women remain significantly under-represented. In this talk Jess will present qualitative and quantitative analysis of gender balance in the UK energy research community, explore some of the structural and cultural drivers to the under-representation of women and reflect on opportunities for change.
