About the Event

This talk provides theoretical and empirical contributions on how the territoriality of small-scale renewable electricity systems (RES) can orchestrate gendered land struggles as well as opportunities for entrepreneurship in local spaces. Drawing on empirical insights from East Africa and using a feminist geography approach we demonstrate how energy projects create new territories around rivers and power lines, and how local businesses develop or change their production processes through access to RES.
